For solo US HVAC techs, plumbers and handymen

Quote, invoice and get paid from your phone. Built for a crew of one.

QuotePaid does four things: quotes, invoices, card payments and a one-page record for every customer. No scheduling board, no dispatch, no GPS, no team settings. Just what one person running the van actually uses.

For owner-operators who do the work and the paperwork: HVAC, plumbing, handyman, appliance repair and similar trades. Works in the browser on iPhone and Android. Nothing to install from an app store.

Today, the software is built for somebody else

Made for offices with crews

Jobber, Housecall Pro and ServiceTitan are built for a dispatcher sending several techs out. Schedule boards, GPS tracking, timesheets and team permissions you never open.

Priced for crews too

The cheapest one-user plans run $29 to $79 a month, and automatic payment follow-ups often sit on a higher plan.

So the paperwork ends up everywhere

Quotes on the back of a receipt, invoices typed at the kitchen table at night, a customer's filter size in a text from two years ago.

With QuotePaid

Quote before you leave

Pick items from your own price list, add photos and optional extras, and text the quote from your own number. The customer approves and signs on their phone.

Invoice and get paid on the spot

One tap turns the approved quote into an invoice. The customer pays by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or bank transfer, and the money goes to your own Stripe account.

Every customer on one page

Address, phone, equipment, notes and every quote, invoice and payment. Unpaid invoices get an email reminder on day 7 and day 14 after the due date.

Questions

What is the simplest invoicing app for a one-person HVAC or plumbing business?

Look for an app that does quotes, invoices and card payments from your phone, without the scheduling, dispatch and team features you would pay for and never use. QuotePaid is built for exactly that: quotes, invoices, payments through your own Stripe account and a one-page record per customer, for $15 a month with no limit on quotes or invoices.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Jobber for a one-man business?

Jobber's one-user Core plan is listed at $29 to $49 a month, and automatic invoice follow-ups are on its Connect plan from $99 a month (as listed in October 2026). If you do not need scheduling and dispatch, a simpler quote-and-invoice app costs less. QuotePaid is $15 a month with unlimited quotes and invoices and email payment reminders included.

How do I take a card payment from a customer on the job?

Send the invoice as a link by text or email and the customer pays on their own phone by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or bank transfer. Or open the payment page and hand them your phone. Card readers and tap-to-pay are not supported at launch.

Do I need to download an app?

No. QuotePaid runs in your phone's browser and you can add it to your home screen like an app, on iPhone or Android. You can write a quote with no signal in a basement or crawl space; it sends when you are back online.

How much does it cost, and are there payment fees?

$15 a month for one user, with unlimited quotes, invoices and customers. Free 14-day trial, cancel any time. Card payments go through your own Stripe account at Stripe's standard fee (2.9% + 30¢ for US cards at the time of writing). QuotePaid takes no cut of your payments.

Do I need a Stripe account?

To take card payments, yes. You can connect an existing Stripe account or create one during setup, and the money goes from Stripe to your own bank account. Without Stripe you can still send quotes and invoices and record cash and check payments.

Does it send payment reminders?

Yes. An unpaid invoice gets a polite email reminder 7 days after the due date and another after 14 days, signed with your business name. They stop as soon as it is paid, and you can switch them off for any customer. If you invoice in QuickBooks instead and want text reminders and a final notice, see DueNudge.

Can customers approve a quote online?

Yes. The customer opens the quote on their phone, ticks any optional items, types their name to sign and taps Approve. You get a notification right away, and the approved quote becomes an invoice with one tap.

Can I ask for a deposit?

Yes. Set a deposit as a percentage or an amount on the quote and the customer pays it when they approve. The deposit is taken off the final invoice.

Does it handle sales tax?

You set your sales tax rate and mark which items are taxable; tax is shown on quotes and invoices. QuotePaid does not file or pay sales tax for you.

Does it work with QuickBooks?

There is no QuickBooks sync at launch. You can export all invoices and payments as a CSV file for your bookkeeper or to import into QuickBooks.

Does it do scheduling, dispatch or GPS tracking?

No, on purpose. Those features are for businesses sending several techs out. Use your phone's calendar for appointments.

What if I hire a helper?

An account has one user. If a second tech needs their own login and you need to dispatch jobs, a field service app such as Jobber or Housecall Pro will probably fit better. If you want a second login, tell us on the waitlist form.

Which countries do you support?

We start with trade businesses in the United States: US dollars, US sales tax and US phone numbers. If you work elsewhere, tell us on the waitlist form.

Is my customer data private?

Your customer list is yours: export it any time. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest and is not used to train AI models. Card numbers go to Stripe and never reach us. See our security page for details.

When does it launch?
