For independent UK dietitians and nutritionists

See who is following the meal plan, without chasing clients on WhatsApp.

Upload the meal plan PDF you already write. PlanKept turns it into daily menus, and each client gets a private link on their phone that shows only today's meals, each with a tick box. You see at a glance who is on track, who swapped what, and who has gone quiet.

For freelance and private practice dietitians, registered nutritionists and nutritional therapists who write individual meal plans and see clients every few weeks.

Today, check-ins live in a WhatsApp thread

The plan is a PDF

You spend an hour on a meal plan, send it as a PDF and hope it gets opened again after the first day.

Check-ins by message

Clients send photos, voice notes and "had pasta, is that ok?" at any hour, mixed in with their family chats and yours.

You do the chasing

Every week you scroll back through dozens of threads and send "how did this week go?" to everyone who went quiet.

You find out at the review

The real picture arrives at the follow-up appointment, when the client tries to remember the last three weeks.

The plan is good. What is missing is a simple way for the client to say "done" and for you to see it without opening forty chats.

With PlanKept

Upload your plan as it is

Drop in the PDF you already make, from Word, Canva, Google Docs or your nutrition software. It is split into days and meals, with "or" options kept. You check every day before the client sees it, and anything unclear is marked for you instead of guessed.

The client sees only today

Send the client their private link once, by WhatsApp, text or email. It opens in the phone's browser with today's meals and a tick box for each. No app, no password, no calories or scores. If they had something else, they tap "had something else" and write a few words.

You see adherence at a glance

One screen for all your clients: meals ticked over the last 7 days, the swaps they wrote and anyone with no ticks for 3 days. A short email each morning lists only who needs you, and the full history is ready for the next appointment.

    What PlanKept doesn't do

It does one thing: tells you whether the plan you wrote is being followed.

    • It never gives nutrition advice, writes plans or changes yours: you are the dietitian
    • No calorie counting, weight, food photos or scores for the client to worry about
    • No diagnoses or medical history: it only needs a first name and the plan
    • It is not practice management software: no booking, invoicing, notes or video calls
    • It is not a messaging app or a live monitor: nobody watches the ticks in real time

    How client data is handled

    Only what is needed

A first name or initials, the meal plan, the ticks and the short notes clients write. An email address only if the client wants reminders. No date of birth, address, health records, diagnoses or weight.

    You stay in control

You are the data controller for your clients; we process their data only on your instructions, under a data processing agreement that comes with every account (UK GDPR Article 28). Stop sharing a plan and its link stops working; delete a client and everything about them is deleted.

    Where it is kept

Stored encrypted in the EU (Frankfurt). Meal plan PDFs are read by an automated document service in the USA under standard contractual clauses, which does not use them to train its models. Never sold, never used for advertising.

    Pricing

One price for your practice, not per client. Free 14-day trial. Billed in US dollars, VAT calculated at checkout.

Why not a full practice platform?

Platforms like Practice Better, Healthie and Nutrium do booking, notes, invoicing, food diaries and meal planning, and ask you to move your whole practice into them and your clients into their app. Some, like Nutrium, already let clients mark meals as eaten in that app: if you run on one and your clients use it, you do not need PlanKept. If you write plans your own way and just want to know they are followed, PlanKept takes your PDF as it is and asks your clients for one tap per meal, with nothing to install.

    Questions

How can a dietitian track whether clients follow their meal plan between appointments?

Give the client a quick way to say "done" for each meal and collect it in one place. With PlanKept, you upload the meal plan PDF, each client gets a private phone link that shows today's meals with a tick box, and your dashboard shows meals ticked over the last 7 days, what clients had instead, and who has not ticked anything for 3 days.

How do I stop chasing clients for check-ins on WhatsApp?

Move the daily check-in out of the chat. You send each client their PlanKept link once, on WhatsApp if you like. From then on they tick meals on the link instead of messaging you, and you only need to reach out to the clients your morning email lists as quiet or struggling.

Do my clients need to download an app or create an account?

No. Their private link opens in any phone browser, and they can add it to their home screen like an app. There is no password; the link is long and random, and you can replace it at any time.

What kind of meal plan can I upload?

A PDF of the plan you already write: from Word, Google Docs, Canva or nutrition software such as Nutritics. Fixed day-by-day plans, weekly rotations and plans with "or" options all work. Clear scans work too. You check every day before it goes to the client, and anything unclear is marked for you to fix, never guessed.

Does PlanKept give nutrition advice or change my meal plan?

No. PlanKept shows the client exactly what you wrote and tells you what they ticked. It does not suggest foods, substitute meals, calculate nutrients or answer clients' questions. All advice comes from you.

Does it count calories or track weight?

No, on purpose. Clients see today's meals and a tick box, nothing else: no calories, numbers, streaks or scores. If your plan lists portions, they appear as you wrote them.

Is it suitable for clients with a history of disordered eating?

That is your clinical decision. The client view has no numbers, scores or "failed" days, and "had something else" is treated as information, not a mistake. For some clients, ticking meals may still not be right, and you choose who gets a link.

How does PlanKept handle client health data under UK GDPR?

Meal plans and adherence are health data, so PlanKept collects as little as possible: a first name or initials, the plan, ticks and short notes, and an email only for reminders. You are the controller, we are your processor under a data processing agreement, data is encrypted and stored in the EU, and deleting a client deletes everything about them. For most dietitians the Article 9 condition is health or social care (9(2)(h)), as a professional bound by confidentiality. Your privacy notice to clients should mention that you use PlanKept.

Do you support HIPAA for US dietitians?

Not yet. We start in the United Kingdom. If you are in the US and bill insurance as a HIPAA covered entity, you would need a business associate agreement from us, and we will offer one before taking on US practices. Join the waitlist and tell us.

How is it different from Practice Better, Healthie, Nutrium or That Clean Life?

Those are all-in-one platforms that build meal plans, run their own client apps and handle booking and billing, and some include meal check-offs or food diaries inside their app. PlanKept only does adherence: it takes the plan you already write in any format, gives clients a link instead of an app and account, and gives you one screen showing who is on track. It works next to whatever you use for booking and notes.

Why not just keep using WhatsApp?

Keep WhatsApp for conversations. The trouble is using it as a tracker: ticks get lost among photos and voice notes, and you have to read every thread to know who is on track. Separating "I ate this" from "I have a question" means you read only what needs you.

    Can clients get reminders?

Yes, by email: a short message at a time the client picks, with a link to today's meals. Text and WhatsApp reminders are not included at launch.

    How much does it cost?

$39 per month for one dietitian or nutritionist, with unlimited clients. Free 14-day trial.

    Which countries do you support?

We start with dietitians and nutritionists in the United Kingdom, in English. If you practise elsewhere, tell us on the waitlist form.
